Position Summary:
The Electrician Helper assists electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The role requires physical labor, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to perform a variety of tasks under the supervision of a licensed electrician. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the electrical trade while working alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Electricians: Support electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, wiring, outlets, panels, and other electrical equipment.
- Tool and Equipment Handling: Safely carry, operate, and maintain electrical tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Material Management: Assist in gathering and organizing materials and supplies required for electrical jobs.
- Site Preparation: Prepare job sites by ensuring they are clean, safe, and ready for work, including setting up ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment as needed.
- Conduit and Wiring: Help in measuring, cutting, bending, and installing electrical conduits and wiring, under the direction of the electrician.
- Electrical Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and policies to ensure a safe work environment.
- Jobsite Clean-Up: Keep work areas tidy and remove any debris, tools, or materials after completing tasks.
- Learning and Development: Learn from experienced electricians by assisting with more complex tasks and acquiring hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Troubleshooting Assistance: Support electricians in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues, such as circuit failures or system malfunctions.
- Documentation: Assist in completing paperwork or job logs, including materials used, work completed, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Technical or vocational training in electrical systems is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or electrical work is a plus, but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 70 lbs), bend, squat, and work in confined spaces or on ladders.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols (preferred, but training will be provided).

- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Basic math skills (measurement and calculation).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Licensing/Certification: Valid driver’s license (preferred, if travel is required). OSHA or safety training certification is a plus (can be obtained on the job).
Working Conditions:
- Work is often performed outdoors and may involve exposure to inclement weather.
- Must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in physically demanding conditions.
- Hours may vary depending on the scope of the project and location.
Advancement Opportunities:
This position provides opportunities for growth within the electrical trade. After gaining experience and completing required training, you may be eligible for promotion to a full electrician position or to other specialized roles within the company.
Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
